Let me find the ocean

Lotty, Sharky, Malou, Femke, Beauty, Guama, Hina... Our fight is also to give freedom to the individuals to whom the man took them, for the simple pleasure of the entertainment. If we talk regularly about elephants in circuses, in France, dolphins were also victims of catches in their natural environment. In French Polynesia, Hina has been captive since 1997 and long before she served the US Army. In France, six dolphins also underwent capture before ending up in basins. They are divided into groups of three between the Marineland of Antibes and Parc Astérix.

LET ME FIND THE OCEAN :

Lotty, Sharky, Malou, Femke, Beauty, Guama, Hina... Our fight is also to give freedom to the individuals to whom the man took them, for the simple pleasure of the entertainment. If we talk regularly about elephants in circuses, in France, dolphins were also victims of catches in their natural environment. In French Polynesia, Hina has been captive since 1997 and long before she served the US Army. In France, six dolphins also underwent capture before ending up in basins. They are divided into groups of three between the Marineland of Antibes and Parc Astérix and are at the heart of our « Let Me Go Back to the Ocean » campaign.

Capturing dolphins for dolphinarium needs is a common practice. In France, they are eight survivors to have been taken from their natural environment to serve as entertainment to the man. In their basins, they are often the deans, in the middle of younger dolphins, born in captivity.

The capture of cetaceans is violent. Often, in order to find an individual who meets the criteria sought by captivity, the entire group must be shot down. Dolphins are animals that live in groups, the death of one of them or its disappearance can bring a real change within the social group. These are also extremely intelligent. They are among the few animal species to have passed the mirror test. They also each have their own language, able to communicate with their own by creating a true dialect and each individual possess his own abilities, his own sound and, perhaps even, his own name.

Why deprive an individual of his natural environment, just for our pleasure? Why compel him to perform, be locked in a tiny pond, while in the wild, dolphins swim with their families for several kilometers. It is high time to change that! We, the men, took the youth of six dolphins and a dolphin. Not to mention all those who died so far, and the massacre we had to make for their catches. Is it not time, today, in 2019, to offer them a real rest, far from men?

Chapter Animals offers support for Lotty, Sharky, Malou, Femke, Beauty, Guama and Hina to transfer to the Whale Sanctuary where two captive belugas already live. And if Femke, following her illness can never be released, we propose for the other individuals, to rehabilitate them to find their natural habitat without the need of the man and let them take off to constitute - together or separately - a new social group. Join us in our fight, support our actions, ask the dolphinariums for a meeting and an agreement for these cetaceans or make a donation to us in order to carry out the complete care of the dolphins.

  WHAT WILL YOUR DONATION SERVE?

Wild capture of terrestrial animals is prohibited. However, those of marine animals and cetaceans for the captive industry are not subject to the same regulations. A shame for these species, while many studies demonstrate the intelligence and sociability of dolphins, whales, orcas and belugas. It is high time to get things moving by banning capture and purchase (eg hammerhead sharks and mantas from Nausicäa) of all wild species. We must act to protect them, not to deprive them of theirs.

Thanks to you, we could :

- Expand our campaigns for the release of animals taken in the wild and against their capture.

- Help, thanks to financial means, marine sanctuaries to devellop themselves.

- Work upstream with reserves and sanctuaries to resocialize cetaceans and return them to the wild.

- Encourage France to stop accepting the importation of wild species.

- Make us more regularly on site and inform you of the situation.

- Being able to take charge of dolphins, killer whales and other animals taken from nature and place them in our partner structures.
